Burt Stuart

Coach Stuart is back for his 11th overall season on the Tiger football staff, including his sixth straight year as the Director of Football Strength and Performance.

Stuart brings over 20 years of experience to the program, and his wealth of knowledge has been integral to the team’s success since his return. Stuart earned his Bachelor of Science degree in history and political science from Southern Arkansas University, and he earned his Master’s in Education: Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Texas-San Antonio.

Following three seasons at Memorial High School in Houston, Texas, Stuart first linked up with Trinity from 2003-08. During his time, 
he served as the Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers coach, and Special Teams Coordinator. The Tigers won four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships and made four appearances in the NCAA Playoffs during his five seasons with the team. Stuart also helped San Antonio’s Clark High School to two playoff appearances in three seasons from 2012-15.

During the 2019-20 season, Stuart was the Strength and Conditioning Coach at United High School, where he also helped coach the defensive tackles. Prior to his role at United High, he owned Laredo Strength and Speed where he used his strength and conditioning knowledge to consult with multiple school districts. 

In addition to his coaching experience, Stuart holds multiple certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting, and USA Football.
