Chris Ramos enters his fourth year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Trinity during the 2024-25 school year. Chris joined the Trinity University Athletic Training staff during the fall of 2021. Chris provides athletic training coverage for Trinity’s 18 intercollegiate sports.
Chris is a native of San Antonio, Texas. He comes to the Trinity staff after spending five years at Schreiner University. Three of his years spent at Schreiner were as the Head Athletic Trainer. While at Schreiner, he served as a member on the NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Staff, was the Co-Chair of the Schreiner University Staff Council. He was also a part of the 2018-19 staff that won SCAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year while at Schreiner.
Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from University of the Incarnate Word in December 2014, as well his master’s in Sports Management degree in May 2017. While studying for his master’s degree, he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at UIW, with a primary sport assignment of football and tennis. He served as a clinical preceptor to athletic training students, as well as provide additional assisted coverage for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and baseball. He was a part of the UIW Football Sports Medicine staff to be awarded the 2017 Best of San Antonio Athletic Training Award.
In February 2016, Chris was given the opportunity to work with the Spurs Sports and Entertainment/Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio as a Contract Assistant Athletic Trainer for the San Antonio FC professional soccer team. While at SAFC, he coordinated doctor visits, assisted with game day/practice coverage, and performed functional testing for all athletes. In August 2016, he was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer of the San Antonio FC Pro Academy, with responsibilities of providing coverage for all competition/practice events, as well the direct contact for communicating with physicians through Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio. In August 2015, He served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Clear Falls High School in Houston, Texas
Chris was able to help at the US Army All American Bowl in 2013, 2014 and 2017. He also provided medical help to the San Antonio Talons Professional Arena Football team and spent time with the San Antonio Scorpios Professional Soccer team. Chris also worked the USA Track and Field/Cross Country Meet in 2013.
Chris holds certifications in M1 Graston Technique Certification and Covid-19 Sample Collection Ambassador Program.
