Jeremy Gezella is back for his 14th season on the Trinity University football staff in 2025, continuing as the team’s Recruiting Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach.

Coach Gezella has had 26 wide receivers earn All-Conference honors in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Southern Athletic Association (since 2017) over his first 13 seasons with the Tigers. Over the past two years, he has had six different players earn All-SAA honors. Ryan Merrifield was also a D3football.com First Team All-Region choice in 2023, and Coach Gezella also coached All-Americans Cody Sandman (2025) and BJ Stewart (made the list as a special teams player in 2022). 

Coach Gezella was a wide receivers coach during the 2011 season at Carroll (WI) University while assisting with scouting and recruiting activities. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, St. Norbert (WI) College in 2010. Coach Gezella then moved to Illinois College to coach the wide receivers, while also working with punt and kick returners.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from St. Norbert in December 2009. A standout receiver for the Green Knights. Coach Gezella earned All-Midwest Conference accolades for two seasons. He was ranked 28th in the NCAA Division III receiving yards per game in 2009 and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. Coach Gezella also played baseball for one season at St. Norbert.

Coach Gezella played professional football in the Indoor Football League in 2010 for the Green Bay Blizzard and West Michigan Thunderhawks.

Coach Gezella and his wife, Melody, have two children: son, Casey, and daughter, Maeve.
