Julie has been named SCAC Coach of the Year an impressive 17 times, AVCA Region Coach of the Year nine times, and AVCA National Coach of the Year twice. Coach Jenkins had her most successful season in 1999, achieving a career-best 38-3 overall record and leading the Tigers to the NCAA Championship match. The team posted a flawless 9-0 conference record, sweeping all SCAC opponents, including DePauw in the conference championship. The Tigers continued their dominance through the NCAA Playoffs but ultimately fell to Central in the championship match. That year, Coach Jenkins earned her first AVCA National Coach of the Year award, while Alisha Farley and Desiree Platt were honored as All-Americans.

The 2017 season was another milestone year for Coach Jenkins. In September, she secured her 300th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) victory, becoming the first coach in any sport within the conference to achieve this milestone. Just weeks later, she earned her 900th career win, joining an elite group of only seven coaches across all NCAA divisions to reach that mark.

Before joining Trinity, Coach Jenkins began her coaching career at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), an NCAA Division I school in Richmond, Virginia. In her one season at VCU, she achieved a 29-21 record. In 1985, she found her long-term home at Trinity University.
