Pieter Blank ‘23 is in his second year as the assistant coach of the Trinity Men’s Soccer team as the 2024 season gets underway.
Throughout his collegiate soccer career at Trinity, he earned numerous accolades for his performance on the field and in the classroom. He was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team (2023) and received All-SCAC honors three times—First Team (2023), Second Team (2022), and Honorable Mention (Spring 2021). His defensive prowess was recognized with SCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice (2022, 2023). Academically, he was named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honoree (2023) and a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection (2022, 2023). He also appeared on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll (Spring 2021, Fall 2022, Fall 2023) and was named to the Trinity Dean’s List in Spring 2021.
His playing career at Trinity was marked by consistent contributions to the team’s success. As a first-year player, he appeared in 13 games, scoring his first career goal against Centenary on October 20, 2017. In Spring 2021, he started all six games, scoring a goal against St. Thomas on March 28. The following season, he started 14 of 18 games, recording his first career assist against Schreiner on October 24, 2021. In 2022, he started 14 of 17 games, achieving a career-best three points as a defender. His efforts helped Trinity secure multiple titles, including SCAC Regular Season Championships (2017, 2021, 2022), an SCAC Championship (2017), and NCAA Playoff appearances (2017, 2021, 2023).
A native of The Hague, the Netherlands, Pieter earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity in Mathematics in 2023.
