Seth Asbury enters his 20th season with Trinity University Department of Athletics during the 2025-26 academic year. Seth was appointed Trinity's Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Event Management in June 2015. He previously held positions as Associate Athletics Director for Operations (2009-2015), Coordinator of Athletic Events (2007-2009) and Aquatics Assistant (2006-2007).  
 
Seth oversees Trinity’s 25 athletics and recreation facilities and the department charged with their day-to-day operation and upkeep as well as event management for all home intercollegiate contests.  He works directly with Trinity’s Facilities Services department for maintaining competition and practice venues for all 18 varsity programs along with recreational sports, club sports, physical education, and outside user groups.  
 
Since 2007, he has served on the project team of all athletics related facility capital improvements, including the $15 million renovations of the William H. Bell Athletic Center in 2017-2018. In 2022-2023, he served on Trinity’s Master Plan Update Committee.  In 2025-2026, he will again serve on Trinity's Master Plan team, this time on the University’s ‘Ready. Set. Rise.’ Strategic Plan committee to further expand upon Trinity’s 2017 Campus Master Plan. Seth also currently serves on Trinity’s Crisis Management Team.
 
Additionally, he teaches classes as a part-time faculty member in Trinity's Sport Management (minor) program.  In 2024-2025, Seth taught a two-semester course that guided 10 students through understanding mega-sporting events that spent nine months working with the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee (SALOC) and the NCAA to help execute the 2025 Men's Final Four. 
 
In 2019, Seth received a post graduate certificate from The Sport Management Institute, an academic graduate level business program for athletic administrators. The institute is sponsored by The University of Texas, University of Michigan, University of Notre Dame (IN), University of Southern California, University of North Carolina, and the University of Georgia.  His cohort graduated from The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and The University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business.
 
Prior to his appointment at Trinity, Seth worked at the University of Texas at San Antonio for three years, where he assisted in opening the new Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in January 2003. As Facility Coordinator, Seth managed programming and open recreation at the center, as well as directly and indirectly supervising over 200 student employees in facility operations, intramurals, fitness, and outdoor recreation.
 
A native of Greenwood, Indiana, Seth received an Associate of Science degree in physical education from Vincennes University (Vincennes, IN); a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and sport management from Indiana State University (Terre Haute, IN), and a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in sports organization from Miami University (Oxford, OH).
Seth is a member of the Collegiate Events and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), an affiliate of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), as well as the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA).
 
Seth and his wife, Brooke, are the parents of two sons.
