This is Tanner Trigg’s first year as an assistant coach for the Trinity Tiger’s track & field program. He will be coaching the heavy throws events (shot, disc, hammer, & weight).
Coach Trigg Graduated from McPherson College in 2021 where he competed in the throws events. He was a 2x national qualifier in the men’s hammer throw where he would finish 14th in the nation at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in 2021. He was also a 3x All-KCAC hammer thrower, 2x All-KCAC Shot put and Discus, and school record holder and KCAC Conference champion in the hammer. The McPherson College Bulldogs would also win two Conference Men’s Track & Field Championships while Coach Trigg was competing in both 2017 and 2018.
Prior to Trinity, Coach Trigg had worked at his alma mater, Sharyland Pioneer High School, during the 2022 school year after graduating from McPherson College. In one year at Sharyland Pioneer he had a bronze medalist (Later State Champion) at the UIL 5A state meet, a full podium sweep at district, Bi-District, and Area in the boys shot put, and an area qualifier in the girls shot put. Coach Trigg also had a regional qualifier in both the men’s and women’s discus.
In high school he was coached by the legendary Larry Howell, where he would become district champion and regional finalist in both the shot and discus, and later record holder in the discus. Coach Trigg received a BA double major in Performing Arts: Theatre & Philosophy/Religion from McPherson College. His parents are Michael and Susan Trigg, and he has two younger brothers named Tyler and Thomas.
Tanner Trigg and his fiance, Anna Faryniarz, are set to be married at the end of 2025.
