Thomas Dimitri

Thomas Dimitri will be in his 13th season as an assistant coach of the Tigers men’s and women’s track & field teams during the 2025 campaign. He coaches the pole vault and high jump athletes.

Joining the Trinity staff prior to the start of the 2013 season, Coach Dimitri has been a major contributor to the success of the Tiger teams. He and his colleagues have been elected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women’s Track & Field Staff of the Year six times during Coach Dimitri’s tenure, and four times as the Men’s Staff of the Year. 

Trinity’s women’s squad has captured sevem SCAC Team Championships since the 2013 campaign, and the men’s team has won five titles. Mia Loseff won the SCAC women’s pole vault title four times from 2016-2019.  George Warren was a two-time SCAC men’s high jump champion in 2013 and 2014, and competed in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships the same years.

Coach Dimitri was a three-time NCAA DIII All-American in the pole vault at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He earned NCAA Outdoor All-America accolades in 2009 and 2010, and Indoor honors in 2010. Coach Dimitri was also a three-time American Southwest Conference pole vault champion.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and human performance from McMurry in 2010. After graduation, Coach Dimitri volunteered as pole vault coach at Abilene Christian (TX) University.

Coach Dimitri is the holder of a Level 1 Coaching Certificate from USA Track & Field. He also is a Certified Jump Specialist with the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Coach Dimitri and his wife, Rychelle, have a son, Bear, born in September 2016.
