Ross Burt is in his 11th season as a Tiger men’s basketball assistant coach.
A former Trinity men’s basketball standout, Coach Burt joined the staff full time in August 2008. Working with Head Coach Pat Cunningham, Coach Burt has played a major role in the Tigers’ four NCAA Division III appearances and three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships during the 10-year period.
The versatile Coach Burt has a myriad of duties. He assists in recruiting, on-court coaching, scouting and game preparation, organizing practices, coordinating travel plans, and conducting individual workouts.
As a Tiger player from the 2002-03 through 2005-06 seasons, Coach Burt earned D3hoops.com All-South Region honors and was elected to the All-SCAC First Team. A team captain, Coach Burt scored over 1,000 points, and was a member of the 2004-05 team which won a school-record 25 games. The squad also advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight.
A native of Houston, Texas, Coach Burt earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity in 2006. Coach Burt went on to receive a Master of Science in accounting from his alma mater. Prior to becoming a full-time coach, he was a certified public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Coach Burt and his wife, Lindsay, reside in San Antonio.
