Steve Mohr became Trinity’s AssistantAthletic Director for Football Development in November2013.

He stepped into the position after retirementfollowing his 24th season as the Tigers head football coach. CoachMohr established new school records in both total wins (186) andwinning percentage (.715) in his career. In the NCAA Division IIIrecord books, Coach Mohr was third among active Division IIIcoaches in victories, and was also in the top-20 in winningpercentage among active coaches in DIII.

During his storied Trinity career (beginning in1990), Coach Mohr posted an impressive record of 186-74, andfinished with a 92-29 mark (.760) in Southern Collegiate AthleticConference play. He led Trinity to 16 SCAC Championships, and tookthe Tigers to the NCAA Playoffs on 12 occasions. The Tigers madethree trips to the NCAA semifinals (1998, 1999, and 2002) duringhis tenure.

In 2002, Coach Mohr guided Trinity to the AmosAlonzo Stagg Bowl, as the Tigers finished as national runners-up toMount Union College (OH). He earned American Football CoachesAssociation Regional Coach of the Year honors five times in hiscareer. Coach Mohr also was selected as the National Coach of theYear in 1998 (American Football gazette and CBSsportsline.com) and2002 (Football Gazette).

Twenty-seven of Coach Mohr’s playersreceived All-America honors. He also coached a National Player ofthe Year, along with 19 SCAC Offensive, Defensive and Special TeamsPlayers of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.

Trinity was also in the national spotlight in2007, executing a 15-lateral play - the “Trinity MiraclePlay” - to beat rival Millsaps College and earn the PontiacGame Changing Performance of the Year Award. The Universityreceived over $100,000 toward the general scholarship fund, andalso secured an ESPY Award nomination for the Tigers fromESPN.

Coach Mohr was inducted into the Denison VarsityD Association Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012, at his alma mater,Denison University (OH). He earned his bachelor’s degree inhealth and physical education from Denison in 1976, and receivedvarsity letters in baseball, basketball, football, and golf. CoachMohr was awarded a master’s degree in education from BowlingGreen State University (OH) in 1977.

Prior to joining the Trinity staff, Coach Mohrwas an assistant varsity football and head junior varsity baseballcoach at Ithaca College (NY) from 1985-1989. The Bombers reachedthe Division III football semifinals three times, and won thenational title in 1988. Ithaca was also national runner-up in1985.

Coach Mohr served as an assistant varsityfootball coach and head baseball coach at the University of Findlay(OH), from 1976-1984. Findlay captured the NAIA Division IIfootball title in 1979, and was runner-up in 1978.

Coach Mohr and his wife, Jill, have a daughter,Molly, who is a senior at Rice University in Houston,(TX).
