Leta Gatton

Leta Gatton has been the Trinity Tigers assistant swimming coachsince 2009.

Coach Gatton, who earned the Bachelor of Arts in psychology fromTrinity in 2008, was a five-time Southern Collegiate AthleticConference champion in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. Shecaptured the 100 freestyle in 2006 and 2008, and the 200 freestylein 2005, 2007 and 2008. Coach Gatton earned All-SCAC honors in the100 and 200 freestyle, along with the 50-yard freestyle, andnumerous relay races.

A team captain in 2007 and 2008, she is the Trinityrecord-holder in the 100 and 200 freestyle, as well as the 200 and400 -yard freestyle relays. Coach Gatton is the SCAC record-holderin the 200 freestyle.

Coach Gatton competed in the NCAA Division III Championships ontwo occasions, in 2005 and 2008. She swam her specialties, the 100and 200 freestyle.

She previously served as a volunteer assistant at Trinity, andwas an assistant coach at The Club at Sonterra, in San Antonio.

Coach Gatton conducted psychology research at Trinity. She alsoworked as a peer leader in Trinity’s Female Student-AthleteBody Image Project.
