Box Score San Antonio - Trinity's fourth-ranked women's soccer team
produced its ninth shutout of the season on Friday evening,
defeating Southwestern University 4-0.
Trinity (12-0-0, 5-0-0) scored two goals in each period to earn the
victory.
Lindsay Euers scored the eventual game-winner in the 16th minute on
an assist from Bekah Gabay, while Jordan Azar assisted Danika
Wright on the second goal of the first half.
In the second period, Katy Lipscomb and Brianna Young scored goals
less than two minutes apart - both assisted by Dana Carter.
Lipscomb's goal was also the first of the season for the first-year
player.
For Young, it marks the eighth consecutive game she has scored a
goal for the Tigers, which is the longest streak since the 2000
season. She leads the team with 10 goals, six assists, and 26
points.
Goalkeeper Katie Garrett faced just seven shots as the Trinity
defense held Southwestern scoreless, and just one of those shots
was on goal.
Trinity will travel to Belton, Texas, on Monday, facing off against
the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 4:00 p.m.
The Tigers continue SCAC play next weekend, making the team's final
road trip of the regular season to take on Oglethorpe University
and Sewanee: University of the South.
