San Antonio - Three members of the Trinity University Tigers women's soccer team have been elected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI Teams.

Senior midfielder Alex Leamy and junior defender Danika Wright made the All-District VI First Team. Senior forward Brianna Young made the Second Team.

Voting is conducted nationwide by members of CoSIDA, the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Leamy and Wright are now eligible for selection to the national Academic All-America Team, when it is announced Nov. 17.

Leamy was elected to the 2008 national Academic All-America Third Team. She is an engineering science major with a 3.95 grade point average. Wright, from Alpine, Utah, is an accounting major with a 3.84 GPA. Young, from Rockville Centre, N.Y., is an English major with a 3.31 GPA.

Wright is a three-year starter who has scored four goals and two assists this season. Last season, Wright was named to the NSCAA All-Region Second Team and was a First Team All-SCAC selection as well. She was also a member of the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2008.

Young leads Trinity with 13 goals and nine assists this year, including six game-winning goals. She has scored in 10 consecutive games heading into the final weekend of the regular season, which is the longest streak for a Tiger women's soccer player since 2000.

The Tigers are ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division III, and are undefeated with a 14-0-0 record. Trinity won its 14th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title (7-0-0 record), and a bid to the NCAA playoffs.
