forward Tommy Barros of San Antonio (Churchill) has been selected
as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer
Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Barros led the Tigers to two SCAC wins last week over Colorado
College (6-0) and Austin College (10-0) at the Trinity Soccer
Field. He scored a goal and an assist in each of the victories, as
Trinity recorded a 16-0 scoring advantage. Barros scored the goals
in less than 75 minutes of playing time. He played for just over 26
minutes in the Austin College game, assisted on the
game-winner, and scored the second goal of the contest.
For the season, Barros leads the Tigers with 10 goals and 23
points, with one game-winning goal to his credit. Barros and his
teammates have outscored opponents 49-11 this season.
The seventh-ranked Tigers (10-2-0) have won two games in a row, and
nine of the last 10. Trinity, the defending SCAC champion, stands
at 4-0-0 in conference play. The Tigers will host Millsaps at 8
p.m. Friday, and Birmingham-Southern at 1 p.m. Sunday, in SCAC
games. The starting time of Sunday's game was moved from 2 p.m.
