Box Score San Antonio – The 15th-ranked Trinity
Tigers women recorded their fifth shutout of the season with a 6-0
non-conference victory over the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders, at
the Trinity Soccer Field on Monday night.
The game was rescheduled from Sept. 7 because of heavy rain on that
date.
Trinity, which scored a season-high in goals, improved to 8-1-0 in
its seventh straight win.
Sophomore midfielder Lindsay Euers
got things going with a goal in the 16th minute, on an assist by
senior defender Danika
Wright. Junior forward Kelly Watts
scored her fifth goal of the campaign, on an assist by first-year
forward Shelby
Guenthardt in the 28th minute .
Junior midfielder Kristina Chen
opened the scoring in the second half, in the 47th minute, as
sophomore midfielder Lauren
Henderson assisted. Sophomore midfielder Katy
Lipscomb scored in the 76th minute, on assists by senior
midfielders Jordan Azar and
Lindsey
Neubauer. Azar picked up her fourth goal of the season, as
junior forward Abby Loar had
her fifth assist, in the 77th minute. Loar put the finishing
touches on the game, with her fourth goal of the season, in the
89th minute. First-year forward Valerie Rutan
provided the assist.
Sophomore goalkeeper Katie
Garrett played for over 85 minutes, and had two saves.
Trinity held a huge 39-2 advantage in shots, and a 20-2 lead in
shots on goal.
The Tigers will host the University of Dallas in a non-conference
game at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a Sunday afternoon SCAC game
against Austin College.
