San Antonio - Three members of the Trinity University Tigers women's soccer team have been elected to the ESPN College Division Academic All-District 6 Team.

Junior midfielder Kelly Watts was selected for the First Team. Two seniors, defender Danika Wright and midfielder Jordan Azar, made the Second Team.

Watts, from Lakewood, Wash. (Bellarmine College Preparatory), is now eligible for selection for the national Academic All-America Team, to be announced Nov. 18. She is a classical studies major (ancient Mediterranean) with a 3.84 grade point average. Watts is second on the Tiger team in goals, with 11 (three game-winners), and has shelled out eight assists, for 30 points.

Wright, from Alpine, Utah (Lone Peak), is a business administration major (accounting) with a 3.87 GPA. She has produced four goals (one game-winner), and made one assist, for nine points. Wright is an anchor of the stingy Trinity defense, which has yielded only eight goals in 16 games.

Azar, from Albuquerque, N.M. (St. Pius X), is a business administration (finance) major with a 3.60 GPA. She has made six goals (one game-winner) and accounted for eight assists, for 20 points. Trinity's potent offense has scored 55 goals this season.

The Tigers, ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Division III, are on a 14-game winning streak.  Trinity stands at 15-1-0 overall, and the defending conference champs are 8-0-0 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Trinity, led by seventh-year head coach Lance Key, concludes its regular-season schedule with two SCAC road games. The Tigers meet DePauw on Friday at Greencastle, Ind., and Centre on Sunday at Danville, Ky.
