Box Score San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior Chris Schardon (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) has been named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer All-Sportsmanship Team.
Twelve men's players from the conference were selected for the All-Sportsmanship Team. The award exemplifies the SCAC's special emphasis on sportsmanship throughout the year.
Schardon, a defender, was earlier elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III All-West Region Second Team, and to the All-SCAC Second Team. A spearhead of the taut Tiger defense, Schardon and his teammates allowed only 62 shots on goal (2.70 per game), and 18 goals (.78 per game).
The Tigers, led by 20th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, completed the 2010 season with a 19-3-1 record, and an 11-0-0 SCAC mark. Trinity won its 14th SCAC Championship, and Coach McGinlay was elected SCAC Coach of the Year for the 12th time. The Tigers competed in their 14th NCAA Tournament and advanced to the third round.
