San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers first-year player Warren Taylor of Newton, Pa. (Peddie), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.

Taylor finished in a tie for third place at last week's Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Golf Invitational at Laguna Vista, Texas. He shot a 2-over-par 74 in the final round, for a 147 total, at the South Padre Island Golf Club. Taylor was five strokes behind the medalist, Aaron Flores of Our Lady of the Lake, who recorded a 142.

The Tigers finished in second place by shooting a final-round 309, for a 613 total, at the tournament hosted by the University of Texas-Brownsville and Texas Southmost College.

Trinity's men will next compete starting March 14, at The ConCan Intercollegiate, at ConCan, Texas. The tournament is a 54-hole event.
