Box Score Spring Branch, Texas - The Trinity Tiger
women's golf team shot a final-round 343 to finish fourth at their
Alamo City Classic at River Crossing Golf Club on Tuesday.
Trinity, which recorded a two-day total of 673, finished behind
Mary Hardin-Baylor (641), Texas-Tyler (652), and Southwestern (672)
at the par-72, 5,814-yard event. The Tigers placed ahead of McMurry
(753) and Texas Lutheran (755).
Tiger golfer Madison Wallender claimed third place after shooting
84 in the second round, for a 159 total. Wallender chalked up the
Tigers best round of the tournament, a 3-over 75 on the opening
day, and was tied for the lead.
Molly McCarthy finished in a tie for 11th place, with an 86 (168).
Molly Zumbro and Alessa Hutter were in a two-way tie for 19th
place, at 175. Zumbro shot a 90 in the final round, and Hutter
improved her score by nine strokes, coming in at 83. Julia Orrange
was in the No. 22 slot after shooting 90 (178). Competing as an
individual was Elise Rosmarin, who finished in 24th place. Rosmarin
bettered her first-round score by three strokes, at 89 (181).
Sara Eckert of Mary Hardin-Baylor took home individual honors after
bringing in a 3-over 75, for a 150 total. Texas-Tyler's Katie
Crawford was runner-up, with a 74, and a 154 total.
