San Antonio - The Trinity Tiger women's soccer
team will take on the host Ithaca Bombers in the third round of the
NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday (time TBD).
The winning team between Trinity (22-0-0) and Ithaca (13-3-3),
in the round of 16, will play the State University of New
York-Cortland (14-5-2)/Concordia-Morehead (Minn.) (14-3-5) winner
in the Sectional final, or national quarterfinals, at 1 p.m.
Eastern Time Sunday.
The Tigers, led by eighth-year head coach Lance Key, defeated St.
Scholastica 5-2, and ousted defending national champion
Hardin-Simmons 3-1 in first and second round home games last
weekend.
Trinity will co-host, with San Antonio Sports, the NCAA Division
III Men's and Women's Soccer semifinals and finals Dec. 2-3 at San
Antonio's Blossom Soccer Stadium. It will mark the third straight
year the national event will be held in San Antonio.
The Tigers are competing in in their 17th NCAA Championship
Tournament, and the sixth under coach Key's leadership.
