San Antonio - The Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference champion Trinity women's soccer team will host NCAA
Division III first and second round games Saturday and Sunday.
Trinity (20-0-0) will play St. Scholastica (Minn.) (16-4-1) at 5
p.m. Saturday. Defending NCAA champion Hardin-Simmons (19-1-0)
takes on on Texas-Dallas (16-4-0) at 7:30 p.m. The second round
game is slated for 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are priced according to minimumes set by the NCAA, are
$6 for general admission, $3 for students (with ID) and seniors
(age 55 and over), and $2 for children ages 3-12. Children
age two and under will be admitted free. Tickets may be
purchased at the gates, which will open 90 minutes prior to the
start times. Only cash will be accepted for payment.
The 64-team women's soccer tournament continues the weekend of
Nov. 18-20, at sectional sites to be determined. Trinity will
co-host, with San Antonio Sports, the NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer
Championships semifinals and finals, scheduled for Dec. 2-3 at
Blossom Soccer Stadium.
Trinity, led by eighth-year head coach Lance Key, will compete
in its seventh NCAA Tournament in eight years, and the 17th
overall. The Tigers, ranked third in the nation, won their sixth
SCAC title under coach Key's leadership, and the 16th
overall.
Last season, Trinity shut out Puget Sound 2-0 in the opening
round at Abilene, Texas. Eventual NCAA champion Hardin-Simmons
edged the Tigers 2-1 in the second round.
