Zach Garcia (Dallas/Lake Highlands) has earned another men's soccer
All-America honor.
Garcia was elected to the 2011 D3soccer.com All-America Second
Team, an accolade he also received in 2010.
Earlier this month, Garcia was selected for the 2011 National
Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tires NCAA Men's
Division III All-America First Team. It marked the third straight
year Garcia was chosen for the All-America squad. He also was named
to the NSCAA All-Far West Region Team, and to the All-Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference Team.
In the 2011 campaign, Garcia scored six goals - with five
game-winners - and produced five assists for 17 points. For his
career, he scored 19 goals and 12 assists, totaling 50 points in 78
games played.
Following the 2009 season, Garcia was an NSCAA Second Team
All-American, and was a First Team selection in 2010. Garcia
was also voted the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2010.
Trinity, led by 21st-year head Coach Paul McGinlay, advanced to
the NCAA Division III playoffs for the 15th time, and 10th in a
row. The Tigers finished the year with a 14-2-2 record.
