Box Score Jekyll Island, Ga. - The Trinity Tigers women
shot a second-round 343 Saturday and remained in 10th place (of 20
teams) at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational.
Trinity has a two-day score of 690 at the par-72, 5,829-yard Indian
Mound Course. The 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday.
The Tigers led host Oglethorpe (699), a SCAC member, by nine
strokes, as the Petrels stood in 12th place.
Methodist (640) was the second-round leader, followed by the SCAC's
Birmingham-Southern (643) and Centre (651). Southwestern (655) was
tied with Illinois Wesleyan for fourth place. Rhodes (673) stood in
ninth place Saturday.
Trinity's Madison Wallender shot an 83, for a 171 total, and was in
a tie for 41st place. Molly Zumbro recorded an 82, Trinity's best
round in the tournament, for a two-round total of 175. Julia
Orrange shot 87, and also stood at 175. The two Tigers were tied
for 52nd place.
Molly McCarthy, in a tie for 57th place, shot 91 (176), and Emma
Herzog, tied for 70th, made a 95 (181).
Hayley Milbourn of Amherst shot a 4-over 76 (147) and led the
tournament. Southwestern's Kelsey Coburn shot 5-over 77 (149) and
was in second place.
