Box Score Round Rock, Texas -- The Trinity Tigers women shot a final-round
339 Tuesday and placed fifth at the Southwestern Invitational at
Teravista Golf Club.
Trinity (697) finished seven strokes behind fourth-place
Southwesterm (690). St. Mary's College (Ind.) (650) won the event,
Texas-Tyler (663) was runner-up, and Mary Hardin-Baylor (668) came
in third on the par-72, 5,936-yard Teravista course.
The Tigers led Hollins (708), LeTourneau (724), Concordia (730),
and Texas-Dallas (1,112).
Trinity's Molly McCarthy tied for 10th place after shooting a
Tiger-best 81 Tuesday, for a 167 total. Madison Wallender recorded
an 85 (173 total) and tied for the No. 22 slot.
Elise Rosmarin, playing as an individual, shot 88 (177), and tied
for 28th place. Emma Herzog scored 90 (178), in a tie for 31st
place. Molly Zumbro made an 86, and Julia Orrange shot 87, as both
golfers finished with 183s. The two Tigers were part of a tie for
38th place.
St. Mary's College golfers Natalie Matuszak and Rosie O'Connor tied
for individual honors, at 161.
The Tiger women and men will host the 54-hole Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships April 22-24 at
Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
