Box Score San Antonio - The Trinity University Tigers
men's and women's cross country teams have received high regional
rankings by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country
Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Trinity's men are ranked No. 2 in the Division III
South/Southeast Region, and the Tiger women are rated fifth.
Last fall, Trinity's men placed fourth at NCAA Regional meet
held at Memphis. Four runners earned All-Region honors, including
returning junior Sal Perdomo (Irving, Texas/Jesuit College Prep),
who finished in 29th place.
Trinity's women's team finished in seventh place at the regional
meet, and two returning sophomore runners placed in the top-10.
Rosemary Steup (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) finished fourth, and
Maddie Murphy (Friendswood, Texas/Friendswood) crossed the finish
line in 10th place.
Both Tiger runners qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's
Cross Country Championships, held at Waverly, Iowa.
The Tigers open their 2011 season Sept. 1 by hosting the Trinity
Hokum Karem Relay, on the Trinity campus.
Trinity's head cross country coach is Jenny Breuer, and the
assistant coach is Derick Lawrence.
