Yuri Ribeiro and Michael Micheletti have been named to the
D3Soccer.com All-America Teams.
Trinity finished the season with a record of 19-1-4 in 2012,
reaching the NCAA Playoffs for the 11th consecutive season.
The Tigers advanced to the NCAA Third Round, before being
eliminated in a 2-1 loss to Montclair State University.
Ribeiro and Micheletti were both selected to the D3Soccer.com
All-America Second Team. The duo led Trinity to its 15th
overall Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship this
season.
Micheletti was an All-SCAC First Team choice this season, and
was the SCAC Tournament Defensive MVP. This marks his first
All-America honor with the Tigers.
Ribeiro was also selected as a First Team All-American by the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America. As a
first-year player, he also earned 2010 All-America honors from the
NSCAA.
Both Micheletti and Ribeiro were named to the NSCAA All-Region
teams as well. Ribeiro earned First Team honors, while
Micheletti made the Second Team.
Trinity is led by Head Coach Paul McGinlay, who just finished
his 22nd season with the team. McGinlay has won 369 games
with the Tigers, and is among the national coaching leaders in both
victories and winning percentage.
