Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Schreiner Spring Shootout

Kerrville, Texas - Trinity's women's golf team finished fifth at the Schreiner Spring Shootout, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at the Club at Comanche Trace.

Trinity was five shots better during today's round, shooting a combined score of 344 in the second round.  Overall, Trinity shot 693 on the par-72 course, which totaled nearly 6,000 yards. 

Three Tiger golfers finished in the top 15 individually, led by Madison Wallender in eighth place.  Wallender trimmed six shots off of her first-round score, shooting an 81 on Tuesday afternoon to earn the top-10 finish.  Her score of 81 was the second-lowest round of the day.

Molly Zumbro finished in a tie for 11th place, shooting a second-round 87, while Molly McCarthy improved by four strokes with a score of 86 that tied her for 15th individually. 

Trinity will not be back in action until mid-March at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational that concludes on March 18.
