Box Score Jekyll Island, Georgia - Trinity's men's and
women's golf teams wrapped up the second round of action at the
Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, with the Tiger
women tied for 13th, and the men moving up to 24th.
The Tiger women retained their position after yesterday's first
round of play, improving their overall score by one stroke.
Trinity was led by Molly Zumbro's round of 84, which was one shot
better than her 85 in the opening round on Friday.
Zumbro and Madison Wallender (83-86, 169) are tied after two
round of play for the top score on the team, while Molly McCarthy
(85-85, 170) is just one shot back.
Julia Orrange had the best improvement on the second day,
scoring an 85 on Saturday to shave seven shots off of her score
from Friday. Alessa Huter shot a 93 on Saturday, finishing
off the Tiger women's team scoring.
Trinity's men improved three strokes from yesterday's round,
shooting a second-round 308 on Saturday. The Tigers moved up
to 24th overall as a team, with their top two golfers improving by
six total shots from yesterday's round.
Kalen Vos shot an even-par 72 on Saturday, and leads the Tigers
with a two-round score of 146 overall. Vos is currently tied
for 20th individually at the tournament.
Warren Taylor dropped from a 78 to a 74 in today's action, while
Geoffrey Setiawan (80-80, 160) is third. Tyler Lehmann
(79-82, 161) stands fourth on the team after two rounds, while Erik
Long-Goheen (81-83, 164) rounds out Trinity's scorers.
The Tiger men and women will finish up the three-day tournament
with 18 more holes tomorrow.
