Box Score Kerrville, Texas - The Tiger women's golf
team opened up its spring season with a second-place finish at the
Schreiner Spring Shootout on Tuesday.
Trinity shot a combined 321 at the Comanche Trace Golf Club,
finishing just five strokes behind tournament host Schreiner
University. The tournament was shortened to just a one-day
event after severe winds forced Monday's round to be cancelled.
The Tigers were also second at the Schreiner Fall
Invitational, held October 15-16.
Molly McCarthy tied for third place with her +6 score of 78
(38-40) in Tuesday's round, followed closely by Molly Zumbro's 80
(40-40) that was good for a tie for sixth place.
Alessa Hutter (81) and Madison Wallender (82) were just off the
pace set by their teammates, and both finished in the top 11 in the
tournament. Brigette Lee shot a 92 to finish tied for 27th,
rounding out the Tiger scoring. Madeline Moran was tied for
16th, playing as an individual for Trinity, and shooting an 85
(40-45) in her round.
Trinity returns to action March 15-17 at the Jekyll Island
Women's Collegiate Invitational at Jekyll Island, Georgia.
