Box Score Dallas, Texas - The Tiger men's soccer
team concluded the main part of its spring off-season program with
a 2-1 road victory over Division I Southern Methodist University
last weekend.
Trinity trailed 1-0 at halftime after SMU scored on a penalty
kick. The Tigers were under pressure for most of the first
half, and couldn't get much going offensively.
After settling into the game, Trinity came out strong in the
second half with a pair of goals to take the lead, and eventually,
win the game. Jonny Lawson scored an impressive goal to tie
the game, then the Tigers got behind the defense for a potential
breakaway goal.
This time, it was Trinity who was awarded a penalty kick, as
Brian Hines broke free in the box before being pulled down for the
foul. Yuri Ribeiro took the PK to put Trinity on top, which
turned into the game-winning goal.
The Tigers are also scheduled to make a trip to Brazil this
spring, facing off against local teams and players from the area.
More details on that trip are coming soon.
