Box Score San Antonio - The Tiger women's golf
team shot a final-round 321 to finish fifth at the Trinity-hosted
Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Club on Tuesday.
Trinity's two-round 649 bested Concordia
University (680), the University of Texas at Brownsville (682),
Trinity “B” team (687), and Texas Lutheran University
(752). McMurry University had a player withdraw and was not
eligible to compete for the team title.
The University of Houston-Victoria (633) was the
team champion, while Schreiner University (639) finished as
runner-up. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Southwestern
University recorded scores of 641, but Mary Hardin-Baylor was
declared third because of scorecards.
The Tigers Brigette Lee shot 8-over 79 for a
160, finishing in a tie for eighth place. Taylor Moser and Madeline
Moran also carded 79s, and tied for 12th with 161s. Shelby DeVore
shot a final-round 82, and Alessa Hutter posted an 85, as the two
Trinity golfers tied for 21st place with 166s. Hanna Niner shot 81
(a five-stroke improvement), and Christine Campbell hit 82, as both
golfers wrapped up with 167s in a tie for the No. 24
slot.
Julia Elmore shot 91 (177) and finished in 34th
place, while Mary Vanderbloemen registered 93 (182) for 38th.
Yanina Soudaly tied for 40th with a 96 (185).
The tournament wrapped up Trinity's fall
campaign.
