Lawson has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the
second time this season.
Lawson paced the second-ranked Tigers to two
SCAC shutout home wins last weekend over Austin College and the
University of Dallas.
He chalked up three goals in the matchups,
including a pair against Austin College. The goal turned out
to be the game-winner, and the only scoring play of the first half.
Lawson's goal against Dallas gave Trinity a 2-0 lead after
only slightly more than 15 minutes of action.
This season, Lawson has produced 14 goals, with
three game-winners. He is tied for second on the Tiger team with
seven assists, and has amassed a team-leading 35 points.
Trinity (17-1-0, 13-0-0 SCAC) has won 14
consecutive games and has accounted for 10 shutout victories. The
Tigers wrap up their regular-season SCAC schedule Friday by hosting
Southwestern University at 5:00 p.m. Additionally, defending
champion Trinity has secured the No. 1 seeded position for the SCAC
Championship to be held November 7-9 at Texas Lutheran University
in Seguin, Texas.
The final regular-season game is scheduled for
Sunday as the Tigers host the University of California-Santa Cruz
at 7:00 p.m. Trinity's seniors will be honored prior to the
game.
