Box Score Boerne, Texas - Trinity's 13th-ranked
women's golf team is in second place after Monday's opening round
of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at
Tapatio Springs.
The Tigers combined for a score of 323 for the first day of
action, with three players standing in the top 10 individually.
Trinity trails the leader, 17th-ranked Southwestern
University, by just five strokes.
Trinity's Christine Campbell and Brigette Lee both turned in
scores of 79 to finish in a tie for third place. Centenary's
Jamie Wright leads the field with her score of 75 on Monday, while
Southwestern's Ali Walden was one stroke back with her frist-round
76.
Madeline Moran is tied for eighth for the Tigers with her score
of 82, while Hanna Niner was one stroke back in a tie for 11th
place. Alessa Hutter shot a 93 for Trinity, and is currently
in 21st place individually.
In third place for the tournament is 23rd-ranked Schreiner with
a score of 333, while Centenary shot a 337 for fourth place after
day one. Texas Lutheran is in fifth place after the opening
round.
The SCAC Championships will finish on Tuesday, with tee times
beginning at 8:00 a.m. The Tigers will open their final round
at 8:40 a.m. tomorrow.
