Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award
for the second consecutive year.
The NABC recognizes men's teams which
scored a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during the
2013-14 season. Trinity was one of 125 NCAA Division I, II and III
institutions to receive the prestigious award, which has been
presented for two years.
Earlier, the Tigers placed 11 players on the
NABC Honors Court, for juniors and seniors with at least a 3.2 GPA.
Trinity led the nation - all of the NCAA Divisions and the NAIA -
with the 11 players who earned positions on the list.
Trinity, led by Head Coach Pat Cunningham,
completed the 2013-14 season with a 19-10 overall record. The
Tigers advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the ninth
time during Coach Cunningham's 15-year tenure, and won a
seventh Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with
his leadership.
