San Antonio - Trinity sophomore midfielder Goncalo Santana has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Santana was instrumental in pacing the fourth-ranked Tigers (5-1-0) to two wins last week.  The 2013 SCAC Champions opened defense of their title with a 7-1 road victory over Southwestern University on September 10.  Trinity then defeated No. 6 Christopher Newport University 5-3 in a Friday night showdown at home.

Santana finished the week with six total points, grabbing a goal and four assists in the two games.  He chalked up a goal and an assist in the first half of the game against Christopher Newport, then added two more assists in the second period - including a helper on the game-winning goal scored by junior co-captain Tom Carwile.

For the season, Santana leads Trinity with 10 total points over six games, accounting for two goals and a team-best six assists.  

The Tigers continue SCAC play with a pair of road games this weekend, facing off against Austin College on Friday at 2:00 p.m., then meeting the University of Dallas at noon on Sunday.
