Box Score Georgetown, Texas - Roberto Camargo scored an
unassisted goal in the sixth minute of the first overtime period as
the eighth-ranked Trinity Tigers men's soccer team edged the
Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys 2-1 Friday at Southwestern
University.
Friday's game marked the first outing for
Camargo, who sat out the Tigers' first two
contests.
Trinity (3-0-0) scored first in the matchup as
Victor Araujo hit a lofty shot to the net in the 21st minute of
play. Araujo posted his second goal of the campaign. Hardin-Simmons
(0-1-0) evened things up in the second half as Nik Valley scored in
the 62nd minute.
Tiger goalkeeper Matt Cardone went the distance,
and faced three shots from the Cowboys. Trinity accounted for eight
shots on goal.
Trinity wraps up its first road trip of the
young season Saturday by taking on the University of Texas-Dallas
at 5:30 p.m.
