San Antonio - The Tiger women's soccer is now the top-ranked Division III team in the nation, according to two organizations.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and D3soccer.com have both tabbed Trinity as the No. 1 team in the NCAA Division III. Previously, Trinity was ranked No. 2 in the two polls.
Twelfth-year Head Coach Lance Key has led Trinity to a 12-0-1 overall record, and a 7-0-0 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this season. The Tigers are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak, and have produced nine shutout victories in a row, and 11 overall.
The high-powered Trinity offense has scored 45 goals this season, an average of over 3.5 per game. The staunch defense has permitted opponents to score only two goals, and make an average of five total shots per matchup.
Trinity has concluded its regular-season home schedule, and heads Friday to Shreveport, Louisiana, for an SCAC game with Centenary College. The weekend road trip ends Sunday in Sherman, Texas, as the Tigers meet Austin College in a conference pairing.
