San Antonio - Trinity senior midfielder Kim Polasek has been honored as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Polasek and the top-ranked Tigers won a pair of SCAC road games over the weekend, shutting out Texas Lutheran University 4-0, and Southwestern University 7-0. Trinity now stands at 16-0-1, and 11-0-0 in SCAC play, along with winning 14 consecutive games. Additionally, the Tigers have shut out opponents 13 straight times, and have registered 15 overall clean-sheet games.
The prolific Polasek scored the game-winning goal against Texas Lutheran, hitting a 25-yard shot early in the first half. Polasek then followed up with a two-goal performance with second-half scoring plays against Southwestern. An accurate and efficient shooter, Polasek scored her three goals on just six shots.
This season, Polasek is third on the team with six goals (two game-winners), as well as dishing out two assists. She is tied for fourth on the Tiger squad with 14 points.
Trinity wraps up its regular-season schedule at Kerrville, Texas, with a conference game against Schreiner University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The defending SCAC champion Tigers will be the top-seeded team at the SCAC Championship, scheduled for November 6-8 at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
