San Antonio - Senior goalkeeper Chad Margotta has been chosen as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, after leading the Tigers to a pair of conference shutouts over the weekend.

The active Margotta posted eight saves in the 2-0 decision over Texas Lutheran University on Friday, then made four more to help Trinity post a 1-0 win over Southwestern University on Sunday afternoon. Early in the tightly played game with Southwestern, Margotta executed a save on a deflected ball in the box. He changed direction to protect the goal area, preserving the clean-sheet matchup. This season, Margotta has 44 saves to his credit, and holds a 0.50 goals-against average.

The 15th-ranked Tigers stand at 9-2-0 overall, and are 5-2-0 in conference play. Trinity is in the midst of a four-game winning streak, each of which was a shutout. This weekend, the Tigers will host the University of Dallas on Friday, and Colorado College on Sunday. The games will be rematches from earlier this season when the Tigers were beaten by both teams on the road.
