Box Score

San Antonio - The Tiger baseball team's eight-game winning streak was snapped with a 7-4 loss to Our Lady of the Lake University Wednesday night in an intra-city game at the Trinity Baseball Field.

Trinity, ranked 11th in the NCAA Division III, now stands at 12-3 for the season. It marked the Tigers first home loss of the season. Additionally, Trinity had won 15 straight home games dating back to last season, had won 30 of their last 31 at home dating back to 2013. The Tigers last loss at home came on March 22, 2014, as Trinity was edged 9-8 in a 10-inning game by the University of Dallas. Our Lady of the Lake, an NAIA member, evened its record to 9-9.

The Saints struck first with a run in the top of the first inning. Trinity evened things up as Colin Serkowski cracked a double and drove in Brody Fehmel in the bottom half of the inning. But Our Lady of the Lake scored three runs over the four innings and led 4-1 after the top of the sixth. Serkowski and Fehmel again combined for a scoring play in the bottom of the inning. Connor Moore scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, and completed the Tigers runs with an RBI in the ninth.

Serkowski batted 2-3 with two RBI, while Moore went 2-3 with an RBI and one run. Fehmel accounted for two of Trinity's runs.

The Tigers scattered six hits and committed four errors, while the Saints had five hits and two errors.

Teddy Turner (1-1) started for Trinity and took the loss. Turner pitched for three innings and gave up one earned run and four walks. Five relief pitchers yielded three earned runs and one walk.

Trinity begins defense of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a three-game weekend series against Centenary College. Friday's game begins at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday's doubleheader starts at 1:00 p.m.
