Women's Golf Fourth After First Round at George Fox Invitational

Peoria, Arizona - Trinity's women's golf team stands in fourth place after shooting shooting a combined score of 302 in the opening round of the George Fox Westbrook Invitational on Saturday.

The Tigers are just one stroke behind the University of Texas-Tyler in second place, with hosting George Fox and Washington-St. Louis holding onto the top two spots.  

Trinity had five players finish in the top 20 individually, led by Brigette Lee and her even-par score of 71 to finish in a tie for fourth after the first of two rounds.  Lee scored two birdies and two bogeys during the round, and she trails the overall leader by five strokes.

Hanna Niner shot a 76 to secure a tie for 14th, while Madeline Moran was just one stroke back in a tie for 16th individually.  Both Shelby Devore and Alessa Huter finished in a tie for 19th with scores of 78 on Monday, though Huter is playing as an individual for this tournament.

Trinity finishes the tournament tomorrow with round two, which is being played at the Lakes Course at Westbrook Village Golf Club.
