Box Score San Antonio - Future college men's soccer players take note: the 2015 Trinity University College Prep Camp will be held August 7-9 on Trinity's campus.
Trinity men's soccer Head Coach Paul McGinlay is the camp director.
The advanced level training camp is open to high school elite players, from ages 14-18. The camp is designed to prepare the athlete for the rigors and demands of the intense collegiate level of play.
The camp is a total immersion experience, and will provide participants with a framework for what it takes to succeed on and off the field. Campers will gain a wealth of knowledge from the experienced staff. There will be information sessions and panels about the recruiting process, along with the academic and athletic expectations of the college player. Additionally, prospective Trinity players are identified from the camp.
Coach McGinlay will begin his 25th season at the Tigers helm in August. Since becoming head coach in 1991, Coach McGinlay has amassed a record of 415-68-30, for a winning percentage of .838. He is the winningest active soccer coach, by percentage, in all NCAA Divisions.
Coach McGinlay led the Tigers to the 2003 NCAA Division III National Championship. Trinity has competed in the NCAA Tournament for 13 consecutive years, and 18 of the last 19, including 2014.
Assisting Coach McGinlay will be former Tiger standouts Edward Cartee and CH Farmer, who are also current assistant coaches. Juan Lamadrid coaches Tiger goalkeepers, as well as keepers on the San Antonio Scorpions, members of the North American Soccer League. Three-time Trinity All-American Yuri Ribeiro will also be a camp staff member.
