Box Score San Antonio - Trinity Tigers Alessa Hutter, Brigette Lee, and Hanna Niner have been selected as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) 2014-15 All-American Scholars.
The criteria for selection is stringent, as golfers must have a minimum GPA of 3.50. The same Tiger trio received the accolade following the 2014 season. All three are also members of Trinity's Dean's List.
Hutter, who made the All-American Scholar Team for the third time, is a current graduate student at Trinity, pursuing the Master of Arts in Teaching degree. She received a bachelor's degree from Trinity last May in English.
Lee, also a three-time honoree, completed her junior year, and majors in biochemistry and molecular biology. Last month, Lee was elected to the Capital One Academic All-America Division III At-Large Third Team. On the golf course, Lee has made the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Teams for three straight years, including a Second Team selection this year. Lee won the 2013 SCAC Women's Golfer of the Year Award after capturing the individual title at the SCAC Championship. She was also designated as the SCAC Freshman of the Year as the league's top first-year golfer.
Niner finished her sophomore year, and will major in political science. She was an All-SCAC Second Team golfer this season, and made the First Team in 2014. Niner was tabbed as the 2014 SCAC Freshman of the Year, as Trinity captured the conference title. Trinity placed as runner-up at the 2015 SCAC Championship, held at Blanco, Texas.
The Tigers are led by Director of Golf Carla Spenkoch, who focuses on Trinity's women's team. Coach Spenkoch has completed 19 seasons in charge of the Tigers golf program.
