Irving, Texas - The top-ranked Trinity men's soccer team was upset 1-0 Friday by the University of Dallas in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
Trinity suffered its first SCAC loss since the 2013 season. It also marked the first time the Tigers fell to the Crusaders, as Trinity had led the series 10-0-0 going into Friday's game. Trinity now stands at 5-1-0 and 1-1 SCAC, while Dallas improved to 2-3-1 and 1-0-1 in its conference schedule.
The only scoring play of the game came deep in the second half, as Andrew Ciancone put Dallas on the board in the 81st minute on a cross from the left side of the goal. It would turn out to be Dallas' only shot on goal in the game. Trinity took six shots on the mark, with Laurence Wyke taking three of them.
The Tigers travel to Colorado Spring, Colorado, for a Sunday SCAC game with Colorado College at noon MDT. Trinity returns home September 25 to host Centenary College in a conference tilt.
