San Antonio - Trinity seniors Yasmeen Farra and Jordan Leeper have been tabbed as the respective Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
The two Trinity standouts paced the second-ranked Tigers to a pair of SCAC road victories last week. Trinity shut out Schreiner (TX) University 5-0, and then blanked the University of Dallas (TX) 8-0.
Farra received SCAC Player of the Week accolades for the third consecutive time. The midfielder scored a goal, and chalked up two assists in the match-up with Schreiner. She then fired in the game-winner against Dallas. Farra leads the Tigers with 13 goals, six game-winners, and 32 points, as well as amassing six assists.Trinity's offensive machine has scored 88 goals over 18 games.
Leeper was awarded the SCAC Player of the Week honor for the second time this season. The defender and her teammates have produced three consecutive shutouts, and 14 overall during the campaign. Trinity allowed only four shots on the mark in the two weekend games, and has yielded just four goals this season. Offensively, Leeper scored the eventual game-winning goal against Schreiner. Leeper has two goals and seven assists, for 11 points in her column.
Trinity concluded its regular-season schedule with an undefeated 18-0-0 record, and a 12-0-0 mark in the SCAC. The top-seeded Tigers head to Kerrville, Texas, for the SCAC Tournament, to be held Friday through Sunday at Schreiner. Regular-season champion Trinity has received a bye into the Saturday's semifinals, and will play the winner of Schreiner and Centenary (LA) College at 11:00 a.m. CT. The championship game is slated for 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
