Box Score San Antonio - Trinity's Director of Golf Carla Spenkoch has been elected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year for the second time.
Coach Spenkoch, chosen through exclusive voting by the conference head coaches, guided the Tigers to their second SCAC Women's Championship in the past three years. The 19th-ranked Tigers won the coveted title by six strokes over Schreiner University at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas, last month. The five Trinity golfers earned All-SCAC honors, highlighted by fourth-place finisher Christine Campbell. The Tigers previously won the championship in 2014, when Coach Spenkoch received her first Coach of the Year recognition.
During the 2015-16 regular-season campaign, the Tigers won the team title at the UH (University of Houston)-Victoria Classic, held in Victoria, Texas. Trinity finished as runner-up at their Alamo City Classic in San Antonio, and at the Schreiner Women's Shootout in Kerrville, Texas. The Tigers came in fourth at the DIII National Spring Preview in Houston, Texas. Trinity also placed fourth at the George Fox Westbrook Invitational at Peoria, Arizona.
