San Antonio - Trinity senior forward Meredith Licata has earned the distinction of being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Licata fired in three goals, along with chalking up an assist, in the 14th-ranked Tigers SCAC road victories last week over Centenary (LA) College and Austin (TX) College. In the 10-1 win over Centenary, Licata gave Trinity a 3-1 lead with a goal in the 32nd minute of action. Licata scored her first game-winner of the season, as she headed the ball in the 9-0 shutout of Austin College in the seventh minute. Just five minutes later, Licata and Madee Gallagher shared in an assist to Julia Kelly. Licata then scored the Tigers' initial goal of the second half of play.
This season, Licata has registered six goals with her one game-winner. She has also assisted her teammates three times.
Trinity, which has won nine straight games, is sporting an overall record of 9-1-0 and is 5-0-0 in the SCAC. The Tigers host Schreiner (TX) University in a conference game at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
