Trinity Volleyball Ranked Fifth for Second Straight Week

San Antonio - The Tiger volleyball team has been ranked fifth in the nation for the second consecutive week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Poll.

Led by 33rd-year Head Coach Julie Jenkins, the Tigers stand at 23-6 overall and are 11-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Last weekend, Trinity competed in the final SCAC Divisional of the season held in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Tigers defeated host Centenary College, Austin (TX) College, and the University of Dallas (TX), while losing to second-ranked Colorado College.

Trinity is ranked 17th as a team in hitting percentage and kills by the latest NCAA Division III national statistics. Sarah Mullens is ranked in the top-25 in service aces with 64 in her column.

This Friday and Saturday, the Trinity Texas Invitational will mark the final regular-season home matches for the Tigers. Trinity starts off Friday at 6:00 p.m. against the University of Texas-Dallas, which received votes in the latest AVCA Poll. On Saturday, the Tigers are scheduled to take on Concordia (TX) University at 11:00 a.m. and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) at 4:00 p.m., who also received votes in the AVCA Poll.

The defending champions will be the second-seeded team at the SCAC Championship November 3-4 in Kerrville, Texas. Trinity has received a bye to the semifinals and will meet the winner of the Southwestern University and Centenary College matchup.
