San Antonio - Trinity men's basketball senior Jayden Holden has garnered a national accolade by earning a spot on D3hoops.com Team of the Week.

Earlier, Holden was tabbed as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance at Trinity's Leslie Robinson Invitational Classic. The Tigers went 1-1 after losing a double-overtime barn-burner to East Texas Baptist University and rebounding to defeat Springfield (MA) College.

The Tiger forward scored a career-high 30 points in the matchup with East Texas Baptist, shooting 9-12 from the field, hitting 3-3 shots in 3-point range, and sinking 9 of his 10 free throws. The next night, Holden earned his first double-double of the season and fourth of his career with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the game with Springfield. He shot 5-5 from both the field and free-throw line.

This season, Holden is tops in Tiger field-goal percentage (.532) and 3-point percentage (.476). He is second on the squad with 14.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Trinity has won five of its last six outings and is sporting a 6-3 record. The Tigers will compete in Oregon December 29-30 against Willamette (OR) University and George Fox (OR) University, respectively. Trinity returns home to host a SCAC weekend January 5-6 with the University of Dallas (TX) and Colorado College.
