Box Score San Antonio - The Trinity volleyball team rose two positions and is now ranked eighth in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Coaches Top-25 Poll.
Led by Head Coach Julie Jenkins, the Tigers stand at 13-3 overall and 5-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Trinity went 2-0 last week, beating the University of St. Thomas (TX) 3-1 and Schreiner (TX) University 3-0 in SCAC matchups.
Senior setter Katrina Lieberman was named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Lieberman registered 46 assists in six sets of action for an average of 7.67 per set. This season, Lieberman has chalked up 346 assists with an average of 6.07 per set.
Junior outside hitter Avery Tuggle has 197 kills (3.18/set) to her credit. Junior libero Sami Lin has registered 211 digs (3.77/set), while Annie Rose Leggett has 199 (3.21/set). Sophomore middle blockers Emily Ellis and Emma Funk lead the Tigers in total blocks. Ellis has posted 54 blocks (0.91/set), and Funk has 51 (1.00/set). Funk is the team's top hitter at .404, and Ellis is hitting .343.
The Tigers travel this weekend to Kerrville, Texas, for a SCAC tournament at Schreiner. On Saturday, Trinity meets Centenary (LA) College and ninth-ranked Colorado College. The Sunday lineup has the Tigers playing the University of Dallas (TX) and Southwestern (TX) University.
